Moonlight Gardening ~

Good Monday Morning
~ Friends & Folk ~

I finished that little wool appliqué I've been working on ~

here are the details:

wool applique, french knots, chain stitch…
double fabric applique, 3-dimensional basket (made into a small pocket)
antique German blown-glass eyes, small brass 'scissors' charm

 I love how adding 'things' to my appliqué
…. really makes them some to life ~

great expression on her pumpkin face ~
yes, it's a 'she'…..

 I tucked some preserved moss into her gathering basket
along with some dried bee balm flower-heads and scraggly leaves….

au naturale

 I backed and bordered her with a neat black vine print
...on moss-y green colored cotton quilting fabric

neat & tidy

 added a sewing ring to the back for a hanger,
...and here she is!

approx. 18" long x 7 1/4" wide

Yesterday I had posted on my
FaceBook page
 that this design hadn't been named yet ~
I got so many AWESOME, creative comments, emails & responses from folks!!!

Thank you all for your unique & silly names ~ I loved them all!
I will be naming this piece
'Moonlight Gardener'
{thank you Sarah B. for the suggestion ~ it fits this character perfectly!}

and yes, this will be a pattern for those who have kindly asked ~

Today will be spent processing orders received over the weekend…
then I will pick up my needle and start to work on another wool appliqué!

{I think there be witches living in my wool and black cats hiding amongst my threads….}

* Blessed be *
 Lori
