I don't have to look far when I want inspiration for a new design ~
to hook, punch, paint or stitch....
to hook, punch, paint or stitch....
only have to follow my heart and peruse my little collections.
It isn't a large collection, but one that is dear to my heart...
when Peter & I were newlyweds, we had a humongous pet rabbit-boy named aptly, Harvey...
he was pure white and weighed about 15 lbs.
when we moved here we brought along with us a little brown bunny-boy named Sneakers.
every spring we enjoy seeing the field-rabbits bouce around...sometimes, our black lab "Lazy" will bring us home a baby-bunny or two, or let us know where a bunny-nest is ~ then we get to bottle feed them and set them free to live in our fields and woods.
here are a few Rabbit Folk in my collection ~
old Arnold Printworks rabbit with repaired ears.... |
two 'original' rabbits made by Wendy of Pineberry Lane, two 'imposters' and two little cats keep company in an old whitewashed candle/match box in our dining room ~ |
Old Rabbit sits on a little blue shelf among children's books and a dollbed with feather tick & pillow.... |
antique German paper mache' rabbit candy container...my favorite piece. |
ca. 1940's paper mache' standing rabbit, small brown flocked standing rabbit, and a porcelain Mama Bunny with twins figurine |
this is a newer piece, intended to hold a plant, but I tuck in all kinds of things ~ |
a tin rabbit chocolate mold stands guard with his rooster & lamb friends... |
March Hares sampler from Notforgotten Farm, and a wooden cookie mold fill my big ironstone bowl on our drysink... |
linen & thread |
a pretty vignette ~ |
Hoping today finds you enjoying what fills your heart with inspiration!

Oh Lori! I just pulled that pattern out last night to stitch up! Great minds think alike :) I had pet rabbits growing up and loved them dearly. Especially my favorite 20 pounder, Leroy. He was bigger than our sweet dog who weighs only 11 pounds :) love all of your sweet rabbits!

ReplyDeleteI love your bunnies...super collection. I live in a house with lots of bunnies; but none are prim...:-( I live with my youngest son in his modern/vintage apt. It's always hard to do my staging for pics. for etsy
I'm jealous when I see your beautiful farm, but count my blessings for a loving son who puts up with my sewing projects all over the place HaHa!
Blessings.
