A little progress...

I enjoy stitching houses for some reason...
maybe because it's a little like being an architect & a builder altogether?
I sometimes imagine I live in these little houses-of-thread...

and that I can stitch myself a garden, full of blowzy blooms...
or perhaps a willow tree from which I'll hang a swing?

or maybe my needle will wrought a little brown dog...or a picket fence
or the name of a loved one from long ago ~

in any case, this is my muse...
my escape from the everyday and
it's my time capsule that I visit
...each time I open my sewing basket...

blessings from the farm,
Lori

  2. This is very interesting the way you are stitching. Those are cross stitches right? And you're going to fill in between the white lines?
Wow, I think I like that. I'd like to see a little dog beside the house.

  4. I'm working on a sampler now with a little Christmas house...at first, it was the thing on it I was NOT looking forward to...now I can totally relate and it was really enjoyable to stitch it!!! The straight rows and columns were so perfectly and calmingly pleasant to make!

  5. I am so glad to discover that I'm not the only one to get lost in the house I am stitching and to imagine things about people in the house or garden. Happy New Year Lori and thank you for sharing your creativity with all of us.

  7. I have a Prairie Scholler village in my WIP basket that I have enjoyed working on all the houses. I have a favorite house and the church I am savoring for last. I usually find my most favorite piece of a project and save it for last. Like the cherry on top.

    Happy New Year!
