The best things about Fall are the cool crisp mornings, the change between seasons, after the blistering heat of summer and before the frigid cold of winter, the rich color of the leaves changing color, yummy, warming, hearty soups (although I like soup anytime of year), and, best of all, October is my birthday month!!!

  44. I don't even know where to begin....I love Autumn, Fall and Halloween because we begin to get cool, dry air, which in return gives me lots of energy, especially to craft. I love the colors that come with Autumn. They are so warm and inviting, especially a primitive pumpkin orange. It is also a time for baking. Apple and pumpkin pies, cookies, breads. I tend to make a lot of comfort food in the Autumn time, not only is it delicious, but it warms up the house and smells good. It also reminds me of growing up and how my Mom always decorated our house for Fall, Halloween and then Thanksgiving. Wonderful memories. And alas, there is pumpkin everything at Dunkin Donuts! I go hog wild in the beginning of September, but by November, I am ready to move on to another flavor! LOL! I usually overdue the pumpkin thing! LOL!

  139. Fall always carries me back to when I was in college in northwest Ohio. Saturdays were football games, and we all had our windows open. The smells of fall come back to me first: dried leaves, dry dirt. And then the sounds of those same dried leaves crackling underfoot and the cheering of the football crowd. The sun was lower in the sky, so winter was approaching. But to us, new college kids with our lives ahead of us, fall was the beginning of another season of friendship and new experiences! Life has never been so exciting as fall in small-town Ohio so many years ago.

  167. Autumn is, by far, my favorite season! I love the crispness in the air...no heavy humidity, just perfect for taking deep breaths. The color palette is absolutely gorgeous and shifts from day to day, greens give way to reds, oranges, and yellows as nature prepares for a winter slumber. Many folks, myself included, go into a sort of nesting mode. I tend to begin baking more, crafting more, doing lots of homey things that bring great joy and that will help occupy me for the coming months of cold. I would certainly love to have such an adorable thread holder to assist me and thank you so much for thinking of us and having this wonderful giveaway!

  182. Fall, perfect Fall ... wary kids head back to school, early mornings getting them off and out the door means "extra" time to stitch in a quiet house with great morning light... coffee tastes better in the Fall, pajamas feel softer & usually our Iowa humidity mellows out and porch stitching & outdoor book reading is once again possible ~ hoorah!

  193. Fall has been my favorite time of the year for as long as I can remember. I loved jumping in the pile of crisp colorful leaves. I loved my Little Red Riding Hood Halloween costume, that I wore when I was around 6 or 7 years old. I remember placing it very neatly back into the box and laying it next to my pillow Halloween night, vowing I would wear it every Halloween the rest of my life. Although it did not fit me for long, I still love anything with a hood. LOL! Now that I am much older, 65 years of age, I decorate the entire house for Fall/Halloween during the first week in September and give my grandchildren a Halloween Party. They come all dressed in their costumes, and love dunking for apples, playing the magic carpet game with Halloween music, do a scavenger hunt, and feast on all sorts of Halloween treats and food. They have the best time and so do I. So, now, I create memories for them to hold close to their hearts. I wouldn't be surprised if Fall becomes their favorite time of year too.
