{{{ finished! }}}

Hello Friends & Folk ~

I finished my little snow-guy last night ~
I named him 'Willy'....

'Willy' shoveling the snow...

I'm having way too much fun lately!!!!
(and I blame Mizz Cheri Payne for this, my latest obsession ~)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
 I wanted to include different techniques into this project...
wool applique
double applique
piecing
machine quilting
free hand cross stitch
&
embellishing
 (buttons, jingler-bells & scarf)
I bound it with the cinnamon-red backing fabric,
bringing the backing fabric 'round to the front and turning it under....
then handstitching it all the way around ~
what I didn't realize I did though,
as I was machine quilting the finish,
I mistakenly stitched all the diagonal lines completely to the edges!!
so,
when I was finished and trimmed the edges, then turned them under ~
I realized the machine stitched lines were now there on the border showing on the front...
(I get SO caught up in creating that I go a little nuts)
A happy accident, because I LOVE how it looks!!!
...kind of like a candy-cane stripe...no?
...then of course I stained the whole thing with my spiced-walnut stain...
making him look very 'PRIMSICAL' indeed...
(that would be my description for Primitive + Whimsical)
...a little wonky, a little folky & alot of fun!
I'm now working on his 'mate' and will introduce you to her tomorrow.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this being offered as a pattern ~
(( perhaps a whole new pattern line? ))
* Blessed be *
 Lori
