The gang's all here ~

early morning visitors ~
one-by-one they wander in, taking careful & cautious steps...
always mindful of where Buddy & Lazy might be...

seems safe, let's get a little closer to the farmhouse...
I Love those sweet, soulful eyes & their big black noses ~
you lookin' at me?
 uh oh...something startled them....
they can leap back into the woods in a split-second...
always on guard and watching me ~
where are those dogs, anyway???
getting ready to run for cover if they see or smell something that might mean danger ~
in the meantime, this one little doe stands perfectly still ~ statue-like.

one, two three - redlight! (remember that game??)
all of a sudden a fawn decides to kick up his (her?) heels (hooves?) and get a little spunky with it's momma...

play with me mommy!!!
Pinnochio finds no humor in the shenannagins or the fact that the dogs have allowed this motley crew so close to his barn...
where ARE those darn dogs????
then I hear some rustling in the leaves behind me...
and so do they :
uh oh ~ we're outta here...
with a yawn & a stretch, Buddy & Lazy spring into action...
chasing the interlopers back into their deep woods
...yeah, right.

well, maybe another day...

hoping your wednesday brings you many pleasantries!!
Blessings from Notforgotten Farm...

  6. I just love going into the woods and seeing the deer.....it is hard for me to see people shoot them, glad my hubby isn't a hunter.

  7. We treasure the deer moments in our yard, too. There is a group of about 7 that frequents the neighborhood. As always, I enjoy seeing my friends at the farm!
    Hugs!!!
