~ Amusing ~

Good Morning Friends and Folk!

I'm playing a little catch up this morning,
after processing/shipping tons of your orders and club kits the last couple of days...
{thankyouthankyouthankyou}

...so after watching sweet Julie's video HERE
and how she shows us not to be afraid of punching a large design on a **Gripper frame,
I wanted to design something BIG.

My brain is always filled with silly things, ....like witches. {really? lol}
and witches riding donkeys, and goats...pigs.
witches working in gardens and cleaning house....
even witches relaxing and drinking tea.
{do you see a theme here?}

most of you who follow my work know this already.
those of you who may not be 'familiar' with my needlework, may think I'm a bit daft
because I gravitate towards these tiny {or not-so} witches.

why can't a witch be a motif all through the year?

I do realize some of you do not like witches.
and that's ok ~ they won't mind a bit...
you see, my witches are kind & gentle.
they love their little lives that I create for them and are happy muses for me.
~ and they will still like you.
who knows? maybe one day you'll befriend a helpful little witch :)

they are comical too ~
along with their animal counterparts...
~ always giving me a good belly-laugh.

in this design,
I chose to use all Valdani #8 pearl cotton and will be punching it
with my **MEDIUM tip Ultra Punch Needle.
and this particular design takes a full fat 1/4 yard of **Weavers cloth {approx. 18" x 22"}

also, I am using 12 colors.
and conveniently, the colors are those that I have chosen for my
**"Autumn from Notforgotten Farm" Valdani Designer Collection

and I've named this design
"When Pigs Fly #2"

why #2 you ask?
because it is also being released as a pattern for cross stitch ;)
{woohoo!}

 I have already begun this project, but am showing you the 'before' sneak peeks...
I will show my progress on my FB page and on Intstagram if you'd care to follow along ~

I'm excited to show you!

For those who already may have individual balls of Valdani #8's,
here are my colors used:

 M90 ~ chocolate brown
O154 ~ dark antique gold
O178 ~ tea dyed stone
O217 ~ yummy pumpkin
H210 ~ melancholy purple
O196 ~ muddy bark
P2 ~ olive green
O510 ~ terra cotta twist
O540 ~ black olive
O506 ~ cinnamon swirl
O548 ~ blackened khaki brown
P11 ~ aged black

aren't they wicked
as in wicked good!

I'm all set up with my frame, threads and pattern drawn onto my weavers cloth....
since the pattern is so large, it will come to you on two separate pieces of paper ~
you will tape them together then trace through onto your weavers cloth.

Oh! and this will also be available as a PDF/downloadable pattern.

hoping you enjoy a creative day
filled with small things that bring you great joy!

You can click on the links below to see/purchase supplies for this design from our Etsy shop~
the pattern for 'When Pigs Fly #2"will be available soon!

Blessings from the Farm

Oh, you little tricky witch, you! This looks to be an all-time favorite...there's a witch, a moon (with kissy lips, no less!), saltbox houses, and some kind of little "familiar," lol! Love it. Enjoy your day, Lori!

Oh this looks So Cute !!!! Love your colors too .... I prefer using my puritan rug hooking frame for punch needle , it keeps the weavers cloth nice & tight . I have a Long list of patterns I want for my Birthday , and now I Need to add another !!!!
It is a Gorgeous Sunny Day here in Western ,Mass ...Finally !!!! So many weeds to pull though , would rather be punching away !!!

Oh how fun. I am very glad you are doing it as a cross stitch, too. I love your designs. :) Happy Punching. :)

So pleased with the way you build up the excitement by revealing parts of this pattern. I, too, enjoy all aspects of witchery. In fact I am working on hooking two of your witch patterns.

This new creation will be a blast to do. And "it's not just for Halloween"

Perhaps sometime you will create a witch and a skunk in the same pattern? My two favorites!

Appreciating your talents!

Oh my, I already like what I see and can't wait to see what size kris draws up the rug pattern to be. Totally agree with the Nantucket Broom Ride being an all year long rug not just halloween.
