~ Thread Tales & Hearts ~

 welcome to February ~
my favorite month!
yes, I know it's short, and cold...wet and sometimes gloomy.
but
it is a transitional month that is leaning into Spring,
with one foot yet behind in Winter...

first sightings of crocus and snowdrops are entertaining my thoughts ~ while I wait & watch the birds to predict the always-changing February weather.

I'll take advantage of this month of love and the lengthening days to plan my garden, and begin the ritual of Spring Cleaning.

February is also my birth month, so that itself holds dear to me

I am enjoying some free-style embroidery,
and challenging myself more & more with specialty stitches,
while combining my love of primitive & folk art design
with a softer palette for the Spring months ahead ~

needle-weaving has become stuck in my brain,
as you can see in the folk heart below...
I've worked it in Valdani pearl cotton, DMC floss and Gentle Art Sampler Threads.

Stitches are a combination of spider web, satin, french knot, bullion, stem stitch, straight stitch and dimensional picot for the leaves.

The heart above is available on today's
 if you're interested
SOLD thanks so much

Have a wonder-FULL day my sweet friends!
Blessings from the Farm ~

Lori, that is beautiful! I love all the different stitches (dimensional picot is fascinating)…such sweet texturing. I especially love the red-haired woman and her dress. Just wonderful!

I love February too- my birthday's next Monday.
And the heart is just so beautiful, indeed the one who owns it will be a fortunate soul. I too wonder how you can part with it :-). Happy Birthday in advance to both of us.

That piece absolutely mesmerizes me.... I used to know so many specialty stitches...but have long since forgotten them. I feel accomplished if my eyes can handle a humble cross stitch on linen these days. Happy Birth Month... February is not one of my favorite months...I think, perhaps, because spring comes so much later in Nod....January and February are months I dread....sometimes I go mad with all the whiteness out there. WOW-EEEE, love this heart & your lovely stitches sew much Lori!! I've still been catching up with some older posts of yours, somehow I've been swamped here with classes, etc. & have missed checking in! Needle weaving is just another thing I'd love to "play with"...how can anyone ever be bored?!

Happy B-day (Aquarian Sister) ~~ I (too) will be a year older & (hopefully a tad wiser) this month, in a few days! (hee-hee)
Love & Woolly Hugs from me & many more wonderful B♪rthDay celebrations in love, joy, laughter & good health to you! ~♥~
