~ Whale's Tale ~

Good Morning Friends & Folk!

it is hot. ok, no more about that.
{{ except that the cats are panting, and when cats pant…well lets just say it's hot!}}

it is this time of year that I miss terribly living by the water ~
… I miss hearing the seagulls and smelling the fresh salt-air.

I miss seeing the sparkles on the waves and collecting seashells
and eating lobster and clams fresh from the pot.

in my mind I visit there quite often on these muggy humid days,
 wishing I could ride my bike to the beach and dip my feet in the cold water
and dig my toes deeply into the clammy-sand.

I am working on another little punched project to take along with me on Saturday
and of course this one has a nod to my love for the ocean & New England.

}}} a little whale {{{

using a collaboration of Valdani & DMC threads
adding just enough detail, but keeping it primitive & folky…

I love my seashell collection ~
& have many from all of the beaches & shorelines I've been to in New England!

I'll be finishing the background up today,
then will mount it to this box that Peter made & I painted ~
{{I know I'm going to love this when finished!}}

*Friendly Reminder*
the farm shop will be CLOSED this weekend!
but do come out to the show and visit us :)

I love Whales, too…such spiritual creatures of the Deep! The color combination is so rich, despite the limited tones, Lori. The box will be very special…perhaps it will hold your shell collections!

Hi Lori, You're not missing much here in Stratford. It's hot and humid and being at the beach wouldn't do much to help that, I'm afraid. Blessings to you.

This New Englander loves it! It will look great on Peter's box! I really miss going to the Cape (just a quick drive away). My parents always cooked out on the rocks of Duxbury beach once a week during the summer. We would gather drift wood for the fire. Back then, I was a skinny picky eater, but would eat anything my father cooked over the fire at the beach! Those were the days!

Whales don't do anything to me being land locked like I am, but that BOX is to die for! LOL Great finish on it!

Oh, I love this whale! And when it's on the box I'm sure it will look wonderful. Love the subtle shades of the whale. Will you make this pattern available? I do hope so!

Love your whale Lori, & your combo of neutral tones...perfect match with Peter's special box that you aged with your wonderful, white distressed 'touches'! I know some of us would {love} to have you & Peter sell these beautiful "distressed boxes" in your Etsy shop so we could mount some of our own PN finished pieces. (hint-hint) ;) Have a wonderful show & hopefully with cooler temps & humidity. We did get some relief today up north (ahhhhh). ♥ ~ Diane

I love your whale!!! While my husband and I currently reside in Vermont we will be retiring to coastal down downeast Maine. We have kayaked with whales almost close enough to touch in Passamaquaddy Bay, they are magnificent animals! I have been collecting whale patterns where ever I can find them,yours is perfect!! Is there any possibility of making it public? Pretty please with sugar on top 😆
