Fabricating ~

Hello Friends & Folk!

Well you would never know that there is a looming snowstorm coming our way ~
the sun is shining brightly, the skies are blue and the temps are {relatively} warm...

we are stocked up with wood & food
just in case we get snowed in here tomorrow & saturday.
which, btw ~ our little Farm Shop here will be
CLOSED
due to the impending weather predictions!!
{stay safe}

I have been working on my new fabric designs for my Spoonflower shop ~
I've sketched up a few as you can see below:

~ fun prints in my signature 'primsical' style ~

now that the designs are out of my brain and onto my paper,
I can begin the process of colorizing them...

how do you like my make-do lap desk?
it's one of my many old wooden noodle-boards that I use on a big pillow on my lap
:)

a cozy spot near the wood stove and plenty of natural light to work by ~

here's the view from my vantage-point:
water bottle always at-the-ready, magazines & books on and under the coffee table ~
a sweet smelling lit candle and a banked wood stove...
my little slice of farmhouse heaven!

next ~ I'll begin the arduous task
of masking out the parts of my drawings that I don't want the paint to cover...
I'll be using a combination of watercolor paints, Pigma ink pens and Prisma artists pencils
to complete them for the finished look I want for the fabric.

different color ways will be used, too
and that means multiple sketches need to be made of each design.

I am never quite alone when I work,
~ as Iggy is my shadow.
he gives his paw of approval ;)

I'll share the completed fabrics soon!

I also have a couple of new Spring-themed cross stitch & punch needle designs coming...
and for those that want {need!} one {or more?} of Peter's new rug hooks,
I promise they are coming soon!

Stay warm & cozy this weekend if you're in the path of the storm ~
please bring in your pets if you can
{ I'm sure Daisy & Pinocchio would LOVE to come in with us!}
if you're unable to bring them in,
please provide them with fresh water & food...
~ old towels make for great bedding as does hay bales!
