~ HAPPY ~

I am HOME.
I am exhausted,
......but I am Happy.

I will be taking the weekend 'off ' and that means the
Farm Shop will be CLOSED Saturday {tomorrow}

~ I need to recuperate from recuperating.

Finally ~

I am going
H O M E
what a wonderful word!
either later today or first thing tomorrow morning I will be homeward bound.

I cannot wait to get there and see all of my friends ~
breathe fresh air, get my hands in the dirt and sleep in my own nest.

 I will be greeted by many sweet faces like this one:

"mickey bad-boy"

 and this one,

"boogie sugar-britches"

and this one too...

"Tigger Mow Mow"

I will sit in the sun and soak it in ~
and if it rains I will sit in it and drink it in as well.

I want to see the stars and hear the owls in the backwoods
and watch my toads hopping around under the porch light...

I want to plunge my fingers down into the thickness and feel the lanolin in our sheep's wool ~
and pat the smooth shine of our donkey's coats.

I want to snuggle with my husband.

oh such seemingly silly things to want to do!!!
but to me they are not silly at all...
~ these things are my life's blood.

thankfully, because of my online friends,
I have at least gotten the chance to smell fresh flowers ~
beautiful flowers that were delivered to me yesterday,
ones that filled my senses with happiness
and filled my heart with love.

be it ever so humble....
home sweet home
home is best
...home again for me.

home
just repeating the word soothes my soul and calms my nerves!

I'll bask in the glow of returning home for a day or so ~
to recuperate from this foreign place I've been in for a week...
to detox my brain & body.
{although I will be on yet another round of antibiotics once home, at least I can begin my probiotics}

then I will dive head-first into my work once again
...and return to doing what I love most, working on your orders and creating.

My heartfelt thanks to everyone who has written, called, emailed, pm'd, convo'd
and sent their messages of healing & positivity ~ your continued patience & kindness regarding  your orders being late has made this a much less-stressful time for me.

I'll post once I'm home & settled in!

Wednesday Ramblings ~

~ Good Morning Friends & Folk ~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
spent another night here in my hospital room,
and looks like another day as well...
...I was scheduled to have another CT scan today,
 but now we're not so sure if that will happen.
Oh Well,
since I can't actually get outside to take my walks,
I've been taking my walks in the hallways.
but in my mind,
I am
H O M E
Thank the Stars
that I have photos here in my laptop to look at of my beloved farm & such
~ or I would surely go 'round the bed, so-to-speak.
here are a few favorite pics
from my Picasa Web albums for you to enjoy with me ~
i love walking through old cemeteries
and seeing the beautiful headstone carvings & unique names of the folks resting there.
pretty soon I'll have my walking shoes on again,
and get to enjoy the fresh air, sounds & smell of my farm, fields and surrounding woods.
oh monday......
Getting any sleep at all while in the hospital is like trying to nail Jello to a tree.
no, even harder than that....ever try to herd cats?
Nurse: "Wake up Mrs. Brechlin, time to take your sleeping pill".
Groggy Me: "Whaaaaa...?"
Nurse: "and here is a 5 gallon bottle of refreshing Contrast to start your day!"
Not-so groggy-now Me: "oh, why thank you."
Nurse: "Do you mind if I blind you by flipping this switch and turning on every imaginable light source in your room even thought it is pitch black out & you were sleeping soundly for once? hmmmm?"
Beginning to get Irritated Me: "Of course not, I love being woken up feeling like I'm under interrogation ~ you go right ahead..."
Nurse: "Oh Mrs. Brechlin, you are so funny!"
Defeated Me: "I'll be here all week...."
And so was this morning's monologue at approx 5:00 {with some liberties taken of course for your sheer amusement, but mostly accurate}
I will be going to have my CT scan this morning. yay.
fingers, toes, & eyeballs crossed that we will find me able to leave the comforts of my confine-of-late and head to my beloved farmhouse.
I will try to post an update for you later, Hoping you all have a beautiful monday!
Good Morning!
Broadcasting Live from the Lynchburg General Studios ~
It's the 'Oh Lord Not Another Morning Here' Show!
featuring the Sprinkles Golightly Band and the Midnight Raiders!!!!
brought to you by Fleet Enemas and Depends ~
sponsored by the ever-popular
Contrast Drink Co. and the Smells Like Dirty Socks brand of Beef Bullion.
Scheduled guests for today's show include:
Nurse Waitaminute
Disorderly John
with Special Guest appearance by an ACTUAL ever-elusive, if-we-can-find-one
Real, DOCTOR!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ok, so you can guess I'm feeling better, although I may not look that good. but hey,
I FEEL better! I have to be here in the hospital until monday {tomorrow} when they will do another CT scan ~ that will show if the IV antibiotics have reduced the abscesses down enough for me to go home and continue an oral antibiotic treatment, OR if the results show that the abscesses need to be aspirated, OR worst-case-scenario, that I'll need surgery to remove the abscesses and any diseased portions of the colon. SOOOOoooooo ~ I am here, stitching when I can, walking with my new 'friend' the IV pole, and trying to keep my sense of humor up.
Thank you all for the continued well-wishes and positive thoughts ~ they are truly helping me!!!!! My hubby Peter has been taking extra good care of me & Hannah for the past week and he deserves a prize for putting up with me while under the influence of extremely strong medications and nonsensical ramblings. As well as our strong daughter Hannah who has been 'mothering' me and keeping me sane.
My love to you all ~

Wednesday Wanderings ~

Howdy Friends & Folk!

oh we have a *slight* relief in the humidity department here today ~
hoping that it blows away completely
so we can get a couple of days of fresh-air
...instead of 'canned' air (AC)

I have to show you a few peeks of my model
 ~ that PSS Sister Pat Simon stitched for me ~

this is called
"The House that Jack Built"

…with three cats in the yard, life used to be so hard…..

Pat's impeccable stitches shine on the beautiful linen I chose for this design,
as well as the hand dyed threads….Pat really knows how to bring it all together!

tiny chair, mushroom, kettle and rug!

I'm awaiting the other models to arrive soon ~ cannot wait to see them!
& I will share snippets of them when I can :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here is Hannah, home for a few days with us,
and her beloved Willie Nelson:
she can do anything to this dog ~ and he allows it. {the big baby}
I mean….really.
look at this mess!
you are quite the character boy ~
and we love you so much!
I want to THANK you for the kind words {{ and bids! }}
on my little painted boxes and punched dolls on Ebay lately ~
I have so much fun and love creating special one off's for you ~
this box auction is ending today, around 5:00 PM
Boxing Sit & Stitch Hoop Stand orders, shipping the rest of the LSHC club kits
and punching a few more Halloweenies is on my agenda for the day ~
Hoping you are all enjoying a bit of cooler weather as well ~
Cross Stitch Class & Hoop Stands!
Yesterday's Cross Stitch class was a fun one!
~ Friends from near & far braved the scorching heat
and came to enjoy the day with us and each other,
while creating a little project ~
Hi everyone!
intense thinking going on….
one, two, three….how do I count this again??
some of us were experienced in stitching on linen ~
Heather
~  and some of us were just learning ~
Designer Becky Noland a.k.a. Death by Thread ~ stitching away on her project
… while sweet patient newbie & left-hander Patti takes her time...
~  While we slaved-away at our stitching,
'some' of us decided to test the treats….
So…..
do you boys approve?
Peter & Steve
{fellow-stitching -friend Robin's hubby}
~ in between tiny stitches, we ate, laughed & shopped…
caught Becky perusing the patterns...
We are excited to say that Notforgotten Farm
is carrying Becky's patterns here in the farm shop!
here is a link to her Etsy shop:
Thanks to everyone who came out for the class & spent the day with us ~
xoxoxoxox to each one of you!
And speaking of Etsy ~
Our Sit & Stitch© Hoop Stands are now available in our Etsy shop:
link below:
Woohoo!!!!
a couple of the students
purchased theirs yesterday while they were here for the class ~
...the feedback has been good!
after much consideration, we've decided to offer them
UNfinished ~ just like our Hookinpunch© Gripper Frames…
I was leery about the stain on the wood
perhaps coming off on our beautiful linens!!!!
and THAT would be unacceptable.
We have a bunch of them ready to ship out early this week ~
 but they are limited at the moment to what is available on Etsy…
{{ you may want to grab one whilst you can!! }}
Please be careful in this horrid heat & humidity…
remember to drink plenty of water,
and provide fresh cool water for our fur & feathered friends
until this passes….
I'm so ready for Autumn!
