The 2015 Virginia Rugfest ~

Hello Everyone!!!

we are back home from the 2015 Virginia Rugfest ~
what a great time we had!

Many thanks to Mary Henck and the Shockoe Slip Rug Hookers
 for another awesome show!!

Here are some photos we snapped for you
{{ in between helping our customers,
....chatting with friends, laughing, snacking and shopping!!! }}

a full house & a super-turnout!
this is the big room where everyone gathers to hook ~ and socialize...

great things happen & friendships are strengthened
~ when so many come together to share what they love....

a few snaps of the vendors' booths...

beautiful finished goods from 'Like Mother Like Daughter'

whimsical designs from 'Handmaiden Designs'

beautiful hand dyed wool yarns from 'Checkmate Farm'
& the happy-girl you see there is designer Joanne Page of 'Woolly Worms Rugs'

the beautiful girls {and wools!} from 'Seaside Rug Hooking'

a rainbow of hand dyed woolens from 'Mary's Wool Garden'

drool-worthy must-have-wools from 'The Wool Studio'

 and here is our little corner ~

my beautiful sweet friend Robin Muddiman helping us in our room ~

a couple of our tables set up with my books & patterns....

another view of our room...

 I couldn't have made it through the day without
my bff Joan Spalding ~
who helps me load, unload, load & unload again...
and who helps you all with your purchases :)
Joan you are an amazing friend who really shouldn't put up with my shenanigans...
thank you from the bottom of my heart for being there for me!
{{are you ready for the next round???}}

love you my friend!

 Now, onto the rug show...
~ prepare to be amazed!

{{ i love the organic shape and vibrant greens in this little masterpiece!}}

how can you not smile when you look at this rug?

here is my Hex & Frex design {adapted by Kris Miller} hooked by
Kathleen Murray-Boyda....love it hooked with a completely different color scheme!!
{{and Kathleen, thanks so much for the hearty laughs!!! love you!!}}

This beautiful young lady is my dear friend Kathy Newman ~
and she hooked that outstanding larger rug next to her...
 Kathy is a rug hooking instructor in her area of Wake Forest, NC and holds gatherings.
The smaller rugs shown were designed and hooked by Joanne Page of 'Woolly Worms Rugs'

you know I love my owl friends, so I had to include these two....

this is one of my most-favorite people in the world ~
adorable little Jimmie Hayes who is a hoot and is just sweet as pie!!

we love you Jimmie!! Jimmie hooked two fabulous pillows for the event's raffle!!

ok, now I'm going to be in trouble here....
please please please forgive me but this beautiful girl's name escapes my menopausal brain.
I feel SO badly about this ~ if you're "you" and you're reading this, after you're finished scolding me,
can you kindly remind me of your name again?
'YOU' are doing a fabulous job on my "My House" design {adapted by Kris Miller}
....again please forgive ;) it was such a busy time!

here is my "Oh Glorius Day" hooked by dear Pat Cross, rug hooker extraordinaire

Miss Pat also used my "White Witch" design for her wool appliqué in beautiful colors!

This event is one that I look forward to each year...
seeing all of you, getting to see your beautiful rugs & smiling faces
brings me much joy!!

...my brain & body are tired, but my heart is so very full ~
~ thanks to all who came to the Virginia Rugfest 2015!!!

Jimmie says "bye bye!!"

One more thing before I close this post ~

Miss Felicia Martin ~
Thank you
 for the endless hours of printing, folding and packaging of patterns.
for the cutting of many yards of fabrics.
for the organization of my brain {to the best of your abilities with my limited capacity}
and for your friendship that means so much to me.

~ i love you, now get back to work we have another show in two short weeks!

:)

~ Blessings from the Farm ~

Somehow, creating this beautiful art has passed me by and I do not know why. My Grandma Carrie (Dads Mom) was a fantastic hooker. I adore the works that these ladies put out. Would love to attend, but 3000 miles is a bit too far for me these days. It certainly looks like fun was had by all.
Fondly with Peace to all,
Barb

FANTASTIC SHOW.
Thanks for sharing all the fun photos.
I can bask in them as all the retreats and shows are all too far away.
