Happy April!

Wishing you all a very happy April first!
{no foolin' & rabbit rabbit rabbit}
:)

what a beautiful morning here today ~
sunshine-y sleepy faces greeted us outside….
Pinocchio & Daisy sang us a hearty
Good Morning!

Billy {a.k.a. Williamsburg Blue}
was shaking the slumber from his tail-feathers…

and the Guinea hens were running about chasing sleepy bugs around ~

I can't believe it's April already...
almost Easter Sunday, even ~
Spring is happily being welcomed here!

Peter brought me a 'gift' this morning….

two tiny chicks
nestled in his big gentle hands :)

hello little ones!
...Welcome to the beautiful world!!

Yesterday
I had the pleasure of spending the day with not two,
but three wonderful women ~
Joan, Felicia & I headed north up to Maryland
to the
in Hagerstown, MD

we met up with needlework designer
and enjoyed a great lunch together…
the 4 of us did a lot of laughing and eating!

I brought home LOTS of plunder from the market
and will share with you my finds in another post-to-come…

~::x~::x~::x~::x~::x~

Here is another cross stitch finish that I'll be bringing along to release at the
PSS Retreat Merchant Mall later this month.
{THIS month???? YAY!!!}

I'm calling this ~

'Samplermaker's Hornbook'

I wanted to design a wooden hornbook
...that showed my love for handwork & folk art ~

so I combined the heart & hand motif and came up with this…
and then I stitched a tiny alphabet and numerals

~ stitched on my hand dyed 40ct Old Farmhouse Linen {1 over 2}
and only 2 colors of DMC floss:
645 & 3033

then I made a sweet little stuffed heart pincushion
from some older blue calico that I had in my workbasket ~

I wanted this to look like it would have been hung in an old farmhouse years ago
perhaps to use as a guide for the farmwife to mark her precious linens.

I love how it turned out & hope you like it too.

...the stained wooden hornbooks & paper patterns for the tiny simple marking sampler
will be offered at the PSS Merchant Mall
~THEN~
 they will be added to our Etsy shop
for those that can't attend the retreat/merchant mall :)

………………………………………..

Now I need to head outside to dye up a slew of linen ~
I will be taking advantage of the sunshine today for sure!

Have a beautiful day my Friends ~
