Wednesday Morning Musings ~

Good morning friends & folks ~
you know what day it is…..

I am almost finished with that little tombstone punch that I've been working on ~
and I'll share my progress with you of that in just a few…
but first,
are you like me?
when you are working along on a project-in-hand…
do your thoughts drift to yet another project that you just cannot wait to get started?

I'm a self-confessed 'hurry-upper' when it comes to that.
I have to hurry up and finish so I can get going on the next.

not that I don't enjoy every nuance of my creative process,
I just love to see those ideas in my head come to fruition :)

and so it is that I will begin my next project using this from my stash ~
Zweigart Belfast Linen - Coal Black, in 32ct.

I'm loving this!

it's a little too shiny for me,
but I think I can fix that with a nice long soak in my black walnut/spice dye bath….

doesn't hurt to inspire me that there is an orange thread running along the selvedge ;)

{{{ if this turns out like I hope it will ~
it will tickle me no end…}}}

what witch wouldn't want to stitch on black linen?
<]:^)

and here is the progress of my latest punch ~
a  l  m  o  s  t
finished!

...working on my Hookinpunch© adjustable frame ~
this is the back, or the working surface

here is the front:

smiling skull with wings, vines and the words: 'Here Lyeth ye Body of…"

you may remember that I was working with wool yarn, and then I added some pearl cotton into the mix ~ well now I am finishing it up with plain DMC 6 strand cotton floss…

LOTS of texture in this one!

I have a really neat finish in mind for this project, and cannot wait to show you ALL of my new releases…
HOPING to have all of my new designs ready to show you in a couple of weeks...
AND
If you have the pleasure of being a subscriber to the most-awesome
{{or purchased yours from your local major bookseller}}

you'll find my little
"FALL TIME" punch needle project ~
BUT
there is a correction needed that was pointed out to me by a dear friend…..
in the DMC Floss list published, the floss reading
DMC 3728
should read:
3782

so the correct floss needed for the background of the projects' lettering is indeed
DMC 3782

so many wonderful projects waiting for you from the needlework industry's top designers!!!
and just a BEAUTIFUL magazine in and of itself ~
And
ONE MORE THING before I head out to the shop to process orders today ~

If you will be attending this weekend's antiques and folk art show in Fishersville, Virginia ~

Stop in and see us too!!!
Our shop will be open on Friday & Saturday 10 - 3 both days ~
...come browse for your next needlework project,
pick up some supplies for your rug hooking, cross stitch or punch needle work…
and enjoy some fresh baked treats & pink lemonade while you breathe in the fresh country air!

See you soon!

* Blessed be *
 Lori

Made the correction in my copy of Primitive Quilts and Projects. Love the tombstone angel punch, and I am very intrigued by the black linen project. I suspect that you might need really good lighting for that one!

Yipee! I just got my copy the other day and had not even looked at it yet, I didn't know you had a project in it...I LOVE it! Squirrels and punkins, the things I love for fall :) That will be my next punch. The black linen is very cool, can't wait to see what you come up with for that!

Beautiful black linen I find very hard to stitch on a dark fabric... Great punch needle finishing!

How many stitches would a witch stitch if a witch could stitch stitches?
