Rainy Day Farmhouse ~

I love the rain ~

the way is sounds, feels and smells…
the way it washes clean everything and
charges the air around me.

I love to be in the farmhouse when it rains too.
{Iggy likes to sleep in when we have falling weather ~}
but he doesn't like the thunder as much as I do.

hi Ig

it's a good day to read or stitch...
I just got three of my favorite magazines yesterday,
Where Women Create
PRIMS
and the new publication
Prairie by Country Sampler

I haven't had a chance to really look through these yet,
...but I will make time to after the open house

I love watching the rain through my old wavy farmhouse windows too ~
the way the drops make tiny trails down the panes…

out our bedroom window looking into our beloved woods ~ our narcissus is blooming

sewing room window

... a friendly crow outside poking through the sodden dirt
~ looking for juicy worms & grubs ~

mr. rook

another little visitor to the backyard feeder ~
a male indigo bunting:

oh! handsome boy!!

Hoping your day is spent enjoying your surroundings ~
keeping those in the more violent storm-zones in our thoughts….

* Blessed be *
 Lori

The rain IS nice, but I could really use some sunshine to get my garden going!! I've been working on some pieces to sell at my booth at the Amherst Farmer's Market - May 15th 4:30-6:30. Hope the weather cooperates for your Day on Sat. We hope to see you!
Hugs.....

I so enjoy photos of your farm/woods, I lived in PA in the mountains for a few years and just loved the sound, smell and the beauty of it.

Cold, windy, and wet here as well. The perfect day to settle in with some stitching and a cup of tea. Love your indigo bunting, and Iggy looks sooo comfortable!

Rain makes the day slow down; such a nice puttering pace. It is a refreshing moment. And looks like I will have the chance to enjoy such moments for the next few days. :)

Lovely rainy day post. I always think that when I see something like an indigo bunting it is such a gift.

Glad to read about rain there, but not as much as Pennsecola! After the winter, spring plants and animals are so treasured. BTW, I love both of the Little stitches projects! Happy May! Jo

Oh, I have been waiting for Prairie! I hope they make it a quarterly magazine. The new Prim looks fabulous too! We would kill for some of your rain here in California.

We've had some sprinkling rain this week. Still have some clumps of snow where the plow pushed it. The grass is greening up however so things are looking more like spring here. Beautiful pictures as always Lori. Hugs, Lori

I like the sound of the rain also - and being all cozy inside. However, we got waaaayy too much rain this past week! All in less than two days....

The pictures through the windows, with the rain coming down, look like water color paintings...
