Rescues and Adoption

No, ...
this post isn't about rescuing or adopting an animal
 (although I'm always game for that!)

~ this is about rescuing another living thing:

...plants!

ivy topiary
 I was shopping yesterday with cousin Charlie,
and found these beautiful things in a very dark corner of Walmart...
hidden away & hanging on to life ~

so I rescued them.

and yet another!
I love plants and ivy seems to like it here, so here they will stay ~
I think I will place them up on our mantel for the holidays,
((of course that would mean i would have to begin decorating for the holidays))
 ~ which will commence today!
~::~
oh, and about that adoption thing?
well, I adopted this beautiful little spool case from friends Robin & Lee Harrison

J P Coats

....doesn't it look swell next to old Bess?

*swoon*
{{{ thanks to R&L for thinking of me when you found this little treasure!}}}

Hoping you all can find Peace in your Hearts and Friendship on your Paths...

* Blessed be *
Lori

I rescued a pussy willow bush from Walmart many years ago. It was no more the a dried up stick in a little plastic pot. Not a single leaf on it. For 99 cents I know have a pussy willow that is over 10 feet tall in my yard!

Love the spool case!!! You lucky girl :)

I use to have LOTS of plants in my house but now that we have 2 cats that like to chew on anything green (even if it's plastic!!) I can't have any plants around. So many plants are poisonous to cats that I don't want to take a chance.

Great rescue and adoption!! I have done the same thing at Walmart with dying plants. I don't have a green thumb by any stretch of the imagination, but I must say that many of my rescues actually survived!!
LOVE the spool case... it's wonderful!! So nice of your good friends to think of you when they saw it!!

I,too, rescue plants. To me it is a challenge to bring them back to life. I was one of those newly married girls who took a plant class and fell in love with house plants. Mary from Country Threads Quilt shop sent me a cutting from her Hoya plant all the way from Iowa. .....growing fine in a pot in my best window.
Your spool holder is a cutie. You will use it when you stitch making it feel loved again.
Happy holidays...happy birthday Jesus.
