a little hooking ~

when the weather gets chilly and my hands are needing 'something' to do  ~
I reach for my trusty hook...

the falling leaves and smell of woodsmoke seem to fuel my inspiration
and make me want to create all kinds of things with wool.

small holly & berry hooking
this is where you can find me,
upstairs in our farmhouse...
settled in my hooking chair and surrounded by my favorite things ~

one of my dress forms keeps me company ~
(she is always ready to lend advice or help me color-plan)

wools worms crawl about on the floor, entertaining Iggy ~
a rug I hooked a long time ago
in remembrance of a beloved friend, "Marmalade"
keeps my feet warm in front of my chair...

my sewing machine table becomes a perch for my wool cutter,
needle box scissors and sundries ~

a little wool snowman coming to life ~

hello!
working with natural materials such as linen & wool
always help me feel connected to Nature...
once I've finished these, I'll then go outside for a walk in our fields ~
breath in the cold air and look for turkey feathers.

perhaps I'll be lucky to spot one of our deer, or a hawk...
maybe I'll find a turtle shell or an arrowhead?
you never know ~

but I know I will be inspired to keep creating from my surroundings....

* Blessed be *
Lori

Oh how the approaching winter calls us to our cozy corners. I could easily sit curled up in a chair stitching till spring arrives!

Happy hooking m'dear,

Hi Lori,
I'm glad you're feeling better! That is the coziest looking hooking space ever!! LOVE your Marmalade rug... and that it's a precious memory of your dear pet!
After tonight I can send you some real snowflakes... I hear there's a few more on the way for our neck of the woods!
Stay warm... enjoy those loops!
Hugs!!

Love the rug with Marmalade! Those little paws are the perfect added touch! The Clothespin ditty bag from the previous post is a winner too! I'll be ordering some "stuff" as soon as I get a bit more caught up with my stitchy projects... glad you are feeling better! :-)

Love the new hooking. I LOVE the music playing when I am on your blog. (Using a different computer tonite than usual is this new or have I been missing this for a while) Such pretty music, I stayed on your blog for quite a while just to listen!!
