I've got it covered!

...well I do NOW anyway ~
my poor sewing machine has been naked for many years ~
and I decided to whip up a cover for it...but I couldn't find a nice pattern.
SO
I called up my sister Sharon and asked her if she had, in her thousands of books, perhaps a nice simple pattern for a sewing machine cover.

she then went on to tell me how simple it was to make one,
"all I would have to do was....." she began to say....
then it dawned on me.
SHE could make one for me! and it could be for my birthday!
(how very clever of me....)
and, she agreed ~ YAY!

then she asked me what color fabric?
I said blue or brown....she has lots of fabric too.

funny thing is, in her hoard of fabrics,
she has some that I don't remember gifting her with when we moved here from CT....

she chose this fabric (that was mine) and made this for me....
it is perfect!

and she even got my first initial smack-dab in the front (L) ...nice!
it covers my simple 15 year old Brother sweing machine...
....a little work-horse of a machine that has never failed me ~
dolls, tiny quilts, many rug bindings and punch needle finishes have been stitched on it.
no bells, whistles, crazy-stitches or computer what-nots....just step on the gas & go!

she even added a nice blue trim on the bottom edge for me....nice touch!

it will keep my trusty friend wool-dust free...at least while covered.
and looks swell in my little sewing nook in my studio :)
HEY!!!!
if you need a cover for your machine, let me know ~ she takes orders for them!!
any color, and she will make it just for you :)))))

Thank you Sister!

and MANY MANY MANY THANKS
....to all of you for the Birthday wishes!
it was a wonderful day ~

turning 50 is awesome!

That fabric is perfect and she did a beautiful job on it. I never cover mine, always running in to sew something up.

I have just a plain Brother Sewing machine..I got it years ago on sale at WalMart....I think it cost me more last year to clean and oil than the price of it years ago...lol

Just wanted to pop in and say "Happy Birthday". Robin (Millstone) and I became friends a long time ago through our blogs. Our shop has a rug hooking group and have bought many of your patterns from Kris Miller. One of our gals is working on the bee in your header right now. Have a great weekend, Dawn
