Tinsel Towne ~

Happy Tuesday to you!
as promised, here is a preview of my next new design,
"Tinsel Towne"

a perfect, snowy little village ~

Miss Flea did a wonderful job on the stitching, didn't she?
she used two threads over 2 on my 30ct Olde Farmhouse Linen.

I love the colors in this design ~
DMC 611, 831, 844, 3031 & 3033...

quiet & muted colors and motifs ~

I included some straight stitches for the stems of the snowball bushes for a little character ~

Love the tiny sled!

do I hear jingle bells??
I'm planning on making a box to keep our Christmas cards in with this...
the sampler will top a 12 oz. Whitman's Chocolates box ~
(with kudos going to Brenda Gervais for the brilliant idea of recycling the box)

love that nubby linen too ~

I'll be covering the box with repro Civil War era fabric,
~ then lining the inside with old book papers ~

a sweet little farmhouse ~ how cozy...

I'll be embellishing around the edges of the sampler with tarnished tinsel pipe-cleaners ~
I'll share with you how to tarnish your own in the pattern/kit of this design.

the date '1801' and pine-tree motifs help to age this design ~
I might even add a dusting of frost (some of my antique German mica) to the box-lid too ~
a little brown basket holds a snowball bush ~

I hope you like it!
I'll share pics of the 'finish' tomorrow...

pattern/kit will be available soon!!! sharpen your needles :)

I could move right in to that little white farmhouse....
won't you be my neighbor??
sleepy little Tinsel Towne ~

Have a beautiful day my Friends!!!
Blessings from Notforgotten Farm...

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!!!!!! Would I ever like to be your neighbor! Did the property next to you ever sell? You mentioned it in a post a while back. Tinsel Towne and the Angels are two gottahaves for me! And, I really like your design for the box, I have the box already.
