Website Woes....

well...here's the story:

I have been wanting a 'real' website for some time now,...
you know, a true 'notforgottenfarm.com' .
I USED to have one, but the hosting was not good and their server was down quite a bit.
SO
I did what everyone else was doing, and created a picturetrail account...

it was serving the purpose of a placemarker for my online business
but I just couldn't quite get the hang of it, so it was just kind of
"out there".

last week, in my infinite wisdom
(she says with much sarcasm)

I decided to contract a host to develope a new website...
it is a design-and-maintain-it-yourself program & I thought it would be easy.

WRONG!
(& I'm no computer-dummy ~ no rocket-scientist, but no feeb, either)

So, I cancelled it ~ and now I am back to my simple little picturetrail website.

which I will keep and update & really try hard to make pretty for my visitors...

take a peek and let me know what you think about it so far, if you would be so kind ~
www.picturetrail.com/notforgottenfarm

I appreciate input & constructive criticism...
let me know if I should change anything, add anything, take anything away
etc....

thanks, my friends!

AND
on another note...

I have been receiving emails from customers who ordered my little pendants ~
saying they have yet to recieve them....
I have no clue as to why you haven't received them yet!
I am very rural here in VA, but you should have gotten them by now...
IF you purchased one and haven't received yours, please let me know & I'll send out a replacement order for you asap....

in the meantime, I will be having SERIOUS discussions with my POst Master!

Blessings from the Farm...
Lori

Nothing not to like about your Picturetrail!! The only suggestion I might make (and it only a suggestion!) is a little more info in the descriptions perhaps on what the models/samples were stitched on and the sizes. I know with cross stitch, size depends on the count, etc., but if you could provide some info on at least what the models were done, one could gauge how large or small their project might be...? I know that might take a ton of time - but could be added here and there as time permits?? Just a thought - really!) (And should "Bless my Scissors" be in the Halloween/Fall category...or did I see that wrong?) Truly - it's looking great to me! Have a wonderful week! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin (PS - my pendants arrived just fine...and they're wonderful!! Thanks so much!)

Hi Lori,
I think your Picturetrail is beautiful...classy and so Prim/Colonial.

Sometimes the instructions to the DIY sites are not so simple.

I don't have a DIY - it was built for me, but never have I been able to figure something when I need to change it out because there aren't any instructions.
I totally understand your frustration.

Oh the PO...how horrible. One I can see...but not a few.

Hi Lori

I think your picturetrail site is great! Visually awesome and easy to navigate/use. I have my website thru Yahoo. I have never had any support issues and it is easy to use and they even supply you with website templates if you chose. I have the "basic" package which includes 10+ email addresses(like I need all those) and it runs me about $20 bucks a month. Just info. for ya but I think what you have going on here and picture trail is great!!

Hi Lori, I think it's wonderful...pleasing to look at and easy to use. Will you ever consider doing e-patterns? I LOVE to buy my pattern that way because I hate to wait for the mail. On more than one occasion I've chosen one pattern over the other so I could get it and start it right away. ~Kriss~

I’ve seen your site, and it's really nice. But I think it would be nicer if you added some buttons that link to your social media sites. That way, your clients can find and communicate with you more easily. It will also help if you add some descriptive caption for every slide to make it more engaging. All the best!

It’s pretty hard to manage a website, especially if you’re not an internet-savvy person. You can definitely learn those CSS and C++ codes, but you have to be focused, dedicated, and patient enough to get the proper HTML for your site. I think you have to try getting help for your website creation, though I admit that your recent site is superb. Anyway, thanks for sharing that! More power to you and your website!
