Oh c'mon...admit it ~ you'll feel better...

not brave enough??
well then,
I will be the first one to stand up and say it ...
Hi...
my name is Lori,
and I wear
UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATERS!!

I wore them in the eighties, the nineties,
and now still...
and did you know, that the college students are now holding
UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER PARTIES?
how dare they poke fun?....
i mean...
just look at the ribbons,
bows, sequins, rhinestones and bead-dazzled frippery on these bad-boys...
awesome!!!!
the shoulder pads ALONE are enough to draw attention ~
did we really need to sew little jingle-bells to them too?
or what about the ones that play music, or
(shudder)
LIGHT UP???
yes, I've seen & worn them all ~
even down to the self-appointed one announcing everyone to
MEET ME UNDER THE MISTLETOE...
(bad mistake...many unwanted advances from those who shall remain nameless)
I've had sweatshirts, pull-overs, way-too-long cardigans...
I've had teddy bears, xmas trees, seemingly-drunk snowmen, plaid ones, argyle ones...
and the old stand-by,
JUST PLAIN BLACK WITH TOO MANY FAUX JEWELS...
(oh....how festive...and HEAVY too!!!)

But
I'll tell ya what,..
I won't let society dictate to me
"what-not-to-wear..."
oh no...
I will proudly stand in line at
WalMart
wearing my best (read:worst) Christmas Sweater ~
along with matching socks, black stretchy pants and gold lame' flats....
Oh I am a Fashionista ~
join me, won't you?
help me to revive a Tradition that has gone passe'....
shoulders back now....stand tall in those sweaters!!!!

{{{I could even lend you my
Pink Poinsettia clip-on earrings!!}}}
~ Lori ~
p.s. for those that may take offense to this
puposefully-humorous post,
please know that I truly do wear them...
just ask my girlfriends!!!!!
:)
life's too danged serious & short to not wear
UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATERS!!!!!

I love it - I, too, am drawn to gaudy, Christmas sweaters. I think it was the eighties that glamourized them. Thanks for the smile! SUE

My son & his girl posed for their Christmas portrait last year wearing sweaters pillaged from her mother's closet. Poor woman.
Thanks Lori, I feel a trip to the thrift store coming on!

So I wear Ugly Christmas sweaters and sweatshirs, too!!! Hey, I'm too old to care what anyone else thinks.

Well, I was never into the sweaters, but I will admit, my name is Barbara and I have two Christmas vests. Yes, vests. They are so many years old I can't remember, but they are cute (at least in my opinion). One black velvet with little packages on it and the other in corduroy with a little snow laden cottage including a snowman, candy cane and Christmas trees. Now the dilema of which one to wear...hmmm
Thank you for reminding me they are tucked away in my closet.

OMG Lori, I'm CRYING over this!! I too, have ugly Christmas sweaters and wore a couple of them last year! The idea about an "ugly Christmas sweater party" is great! I'll have to float that around to see if anyone is game. Thanks for the belly laff!!

LOL! I went to a Christmas music performance tonight in our college town...a male student a cappella group. In the second set they all came out in Christmas outfits including many ugly Christmas sweaters! It was a hoot!!!

Love that Christmas attire!! Every teacher wears 'em. You should see the array at Amherst Elem. I'll be wearing a different one every day next week!

You are not alone. I have been known to wear them too. I haven't dug them out yet this year but plan on it soon. I even wear mine to work! (and I work at an office in New York!) I don't care what other think they help me get in the spirit of CHristmas! :)

You go girl!
