{...my wish...}

...for you all ~

We'll be enjoying a pleasant Christmas Eve at our neighbors' house this evening...
but we'll return home in time for a couple rounds of card games and some snacks before retiring for the evening...Santa Claus comes tonight!
ever since I was little, my Mom always told me
that all Animals talk at midnight on Christmnas eve...
So, I always make sure that I'm home
in case there's something someone here might want to tell me!
{of course, having SO many animals here on the farm,
they will have to stand in line and take turns...
not so sure that Suzy my cat will allow that though...,
SHE is the most talkative one in the house anyway!}
Here's how I like to help my animal friends this time of year:
go to your local thrift shop or Goodwill store and purchase some old blankets that may be used as bedding for cats & kittens that may be strays living outside...
Leave some carrots for the riendeer,( ok...the donkeys) apples for the sheep,
or better yet, donate some food to your local animal hospital or pet-adoption agency...

Remember to fill your birdfeeders and birdbaths
{especially if you have snow like we do here!}
Check your dog's footpads in cold weather...
make sure they are not dry & cracked, which can cause severe pain & infection.
Leftover bacon-grease mixed in with some bird food makes a wonderful suet that gives our little feathered friends extra protien that they need to keep warm in frigid temps...put a dollop on an aluminum pan and set out near the birdbath,...watch the feast begin!!

and lastly...
remember to tell them how very special they are to you, and that you love them...
They really do understand every word you say.
for the rest of us,
Peace on Earth & Goodwill toward Mankind...

Blessings to you and your family for a very merry Christmas, Lori. We're at home and safe, watching the blizzard rage outside. It's changed all of our plans since church is cancelled all throughout town and our traditional steak and champagne after church is now on hold.

I don't know that I'll be awake at midnight to watch my animals talk but I sure wish God would take pity on two of my cats, who are deathly ill with URI's. But yes, I've been talking to them, a lot, reminding them to breathe and stay with us.

I share your thoughts completely, the bird feeders are full, the old stray, feral yellow cat has his dish filled out on the porch. My kitties and family are snug and warm, what a wonderful life. Merry Christmas Lori, Petter and Hannah and to all the Notforgotten Farm critters that you so graciously share with us. Be safe, warm and blessed.

Merry Christmas Lori...thank for sharing you wonderful spirit with us in your words and designs...they have long added joy to my life...

~ seeing the animals on your farm just cracks me up as one of my much younger coworkers is slowly adding a stray or two to her barn every years...she is drooling over your donkeys!

Wishing you the Merriest of Days

Hi Lori,
Thanks so much for the reminders to keep the animals warm and loved during this cold season. I'm going to my local thrift this weekend and also making some suet to put out with the bath, all because of reading this.
Hope you have a great season.
