wishing for Spring....

Bitter Cold temps and sun again today...

I even decided to keep the shop closed today,
as our woodstove is barely keeping it warm...

So, with a little time on my hands, I finished that little doll that I was making yesterday...

this is "Anne"...

her head, hands & feet are sculpted from paper-clay
and then painted, crackled and sealed. ..her body is stuffed with rags.

she's wearing a hand-sewn dress in a most charming &
Spring-like green cotton with pink, peach & white flowers on it...
little mother of pearl buttons adorn the bodice.

I made her a little paper bonnet, too...with added vintage ribbon...

I don't know if I should list her on ebay or keep her all to myself,
as she brings me much-needed spirit lifting with all these cold temps...
I've started on another doll too...
this one will be more primitive looking, as opposed to vintage-looking.
she's a little larder too...
I'm crackling her head now, & will sew her dress this aft...
Now I'm headed back to the farmhouse,...my toes are numb and I hear the teapot whistling!!!
Hoping you're all toasty warm and enjoying some handwork...
...drop me a line & let me know what you're all working on?

Ohh she's loverly!! I would keep her if I were you! :)
I've been busy punching away by the fire today ~ a larger piece & all 6 strand. I'm normally all 3 strand, but decided to do this larger piece ~ almost 8x11 ~ so opted to do this one all 6...Going good, but hand is hurting so decided to take a break!
Stay warm!!

Anne is wonderful. I too think you should keep her...
I'm hoping to work on a commissioned rug this weekend.

Lori,
I think you should keep her, too. It looks like you just brought her down from the attic. Love her.
